چکیده
In this study, iron tailings were used as raw materials mixing with Al2O3, SiO2, and/or CaO sintered at 950–1400 °C to produce glass ceramics. Al2O3/tailing and Al2O3/SiO2/tailing systems, the newly formed crystalline mullite (3Al2O3·2SiO2) reached its maximum content of 83.7 wt% for sample mass ratio 6/2/2. Al2O3/SiO2/CaO/tailing system, anorthite (CaAl2Si2O8) increased 72.9 7/8/4/6 1450 °C. The properties ceramic products significantly improved in samples high or low surface porosity. Obtained system 6/2/6 showed excellent chemical resistance (99.99%), compressive strength (1061.6 MPa), water absorption (0.2%). performance ceramics leachability hazardous metals shed light on potential application building decorative materials.Graphical Abstract

Kinetics of Ceramic Phase Crystallization in a Glass Derived from Wastes of Iron and Steel Industry
Intensified environmental regulations have posed numerous challenges in the disposal of industrial wastes. The steel industry is one of the biggest production industries, with a considerable amount of daily wastes. Production of glass-ceramic from the steel industry waters is one of the proper solutions for this problem. In this study, the application utilization of different wastes (such as bl...
متن کاملInvestigation of crystallization and sinterability properties of BaO-Al2O3-SiO2 glass-ceramics containing K2O and B2O3
BaO -SiO2-Al2O3 glass ceramics containing K2O and B2O3 were prepared using conventional melting of powered batches, quenching in water and crystallization of sintered glass. XRD patterns introducehexacelsian and celsian as two major crystallized phases in sintered glass-ceramics. Presence of K2O enhances crystallization of hexacelsianin comparison withB2O3.Observations showed sintering temperat...
متن کاملSintering Behavior and Properties of Iron-Rich Glass-Ceramics
Iron-rich glass-ceramics were obtained by the sintering of two glass powders, labeled G1 and G2, at heating rates of 5° and 20°C/min followed by an isothermal step in the 850°–1050°C temperature interval. The sintering process was evaluated by the linear shrinkage; the closed porosity was estimated by density measurements; the structure and the morphology of the glass ceramics were observed by ...

The structural evolution of glasses during heat treatment at various temperatures and the tendency for crystallization for series of glasses with modified composition are characterized by a dendrite-like phase separation in the early st...
متن کاملCrystallization Kinetics and Characterization of Nanostructure Mica Glass-Ceramics with Optical Transparency
Transparent glasses in a system of Li2O-MgO-SiO2-Al2O3-Fchemical constituents were prepared by melt quenching method. In the fabrication of nanocrystal glass-ceramics, controlled nucleation and subsequent crystal growth were necessary to avoid loss of transparency. It was therefore important to understand thermal properties and crystallization kinetic...
